Falling Down...

I've been falling out of love with the Foo Fighters for a while now and their latest rip off video pretty much seals the deal.

Some may call it homage to the 18 year old Falling Down but it seems a shame they didn't go with Phil Hodges puppetised version submitted to the This Video Sucks contest, set up by the Foo's. Makes no sense to me...

Back To The Future Part 1 & 2 Synced..

I remember cutting the milk bar, cafe 80's and saloon scenes together at collage as an editing project. It really showed off the brilliant repetition of these films. This is going one step beyond, I must admit I have thought about doing this. Brilliant.

Stanley Kubrick's Boxes...

I had the privilege of working as an editor on Kubrick's Boxes and Ronson's access behind the gates of the Kubrick estate is a great insight into the man and myth. For a more on the doco, check out this Doghouse post from the depths, July 2008. (With a great pic by Marcus Yau.)

Rutger Hauer with a Shotgun...

Unknown first time director and writer Jason Eisener is just about to release the brilliant looking Hobo With A Shotgun starring Rutger Hauer as the Hobo, a homeless vigilante with a pump action gun and a hatred of all that's bad. It's based on Eisener's fake trailer of the same name used in the intermission on Grindhouse.

And if you have a spare 15 mins check out this short by Eisener, it's about trees getting their own back. He seems to like revenge.

I love his Tarantino-esque use of typography too, plus his use of retro sound F/X.

He say you Blade Runner...

Great video showing the real locations used in the filming of the sci-fi classic Blade Runner.

From the fantastic Frank Lloyd Wright house at 2655 Glendower Avenue in LA to the amazing transformation of Union Station. There is some nice match photography here, however I'd like to point out that the opening shot of Blade Runner's smoggy L.A. was in fact a miniature created by the SFX team, not an enhanced shot of real L.A...
