Take a look again...

You've seen the latest Old Spice ad - Scent Vacation...

Now see how it was made, he dosen't really go anywhere - brilliant.

I love behind the scenes stuff. This answers a few questions, great how it all starts with practical effects.
Woof.

I would hate to see it out of control...

In fact I would love to. A loss of control is probably what Inception was lacking, a little chaos in Nolan's sterile world would have helped the whole experience greatly.
Love Inception or hate it you can't escape what a massive undertaking it must have been making a film on this scale...

Check out this making of video, pretty cool stuff. Good to see that although there are many digital effects in the film, most build on practical in-camera effects. I think the train sequence is the my favorite...
All these featurettes are on the Blu-ray release of the film.

Busy Pegg...

Hey Doghousers!

As I was cycling past the house used for the exterior shots in 'Spaced' (bit of casual famous landmark dropping there), it made me wonder what one of my favourite funny men was up to these days. Simon Pegg almost played it straight as Scotty in Star Trek, but I want more funnies.

Well next year is set to see the release of 'Paul' a comedy about two sci-fi geeks who embark upon a pilgrimage in a RV to the center of America's UFO heartland: Nevada's infamous Area 51. It's been penned by Pegg and Nick Frost, but Edgar Wright is not at the helm this time, it's a chap called Greg Mottola of Superbad notoriety.

I've no clues as to the comedic quality of the film as yet, but it has quite a cute blog site with some videos watching the progress of filming and some videos that just show those crazy cats larking about. Warning: may make you wish you worked on a film set. Why did I choose graphic design as a profession?

**And it's worth noting that for those of you who are awaiting the third and final installment of the 'Blood & Ice Cream Trilogy', Wright and Pegg are back together next year for 'The World’s End'.
