I don't know why I'm still amazed by the outstanding level of VFX work involved in features - but I am. Check out this making of short looking at the opening titles of "Enter the Void". French visual effects studio BUF completed nearly 350 vfx shots for the film. It's absolutely fantastic work. (Originally spotted over at Motionographer)

I love the French...

I never thought I would ever say that but, the French appear to be leading the way when it comes to brutal horror films. Recently they have given us a couple of reet nasties, Alexandre Bustillo's and Julien Maury's À l'intérieur (Inside) and Xavier Gens' Frontière(s). Now they seem to have upped the anti in Pascal Laugier's Martyrs. The recent international subtitled trailer has been banned (at the request of its director)? Well here it is.
