Good call...
1940s - The Black Cat, Cat People (my favourite EVER), Curse of the Cat People and I Walked With a Zombie. Brilliant all, and not the crappy B-movies you might expect. And The Devil Bat, which IS the crappy B-movie you might expect but is much the better for it.
