Those brilliant people down at Pinewood Studios have come up with an ingenious way of creating the ultimate film studies. Basically they are gonna build a bunch of inhabitable streets based on styles from around the world and then sell them to Joe Public. Streetscapes will include Venice, Amsterdam, Prague and New York. So you could live on a street that looks like Tribeca or Berlin with Brooklyn Brownstones around the corner. Plus your pad will feature in future film projects. For creatives and geeks that sounds like a dream come true.
There will be a school and shops and trains and all that stuff, plus with the Pinewood Screen Craft Academy there will be opportunities for training and work experience ans the like.It is all still in the planning application stages but it is a welcome boost to the British film industry in these financially dark times.
