Good to have these things spelled out - until you said that, everyone else thought Hitler was wicked. Given the general response to the film so far, the happy self-importance of Hollywood stars and the willingness of studios to rewrite history to make it more, like, rad, the discussion in the kennel turned to how much better the film would be if Tom Cruise actually did kill Hitler. Really, would that not be the awesomest? And the big question - what would be the killer line when he did it? I'm thinking something like "Hey Adolf...[cocks gun]...let's reich and roll".
Best of all would be if it was Mel Gibson who killed Hitler, but I can't see that happening.

It's not a shit film, it's more than competent and I actually quite enjoyed it. We all know Tom Cruise is a total arse-hat off screen but on screen he's a great actor. However, Eddie Izzard's acting didn't quite cut it for me either - I was half expecting him to utter those immortal words "cake or death" whilst pulling the plug on his telephones.
My biggest criticism of the film (apart from Izzard) is that the guy playing Hitler is not as good as the dude in Downfall. Not evil enough, and he doesn't work the 'Tache quite as well.
